Cheryl Pearce
Parish Warden
Cheryl came to faith at her local Anglican Church in 1976 when she gave her life to Jesus and was baptised in the Holy Spirit. She counts it as the most important adult decision she has made and remains deeply grateful to the Lord for His saving grace.
Cheryl is married to Trevor and they have three beautiful adult sons and two adorable grandchildren.
She very recently retired from a career in education and served in several capacities over the years, starting as a high school teacher, then moving on to higher education. She has enjoyed working with international and local donors to support special interventions that could make a difference in the lives of very poor and marginalised students.
Cheryl and Trevor joined CCK in 2007 when Trevor left parish ministry and took up the position as the Director of Growing the Church. They worshipped at CCK for about seven years, after which they transferred to serve at
St Johns Church, Wynberg, returning to CCK in 2021.
Cheryl agreed to the role of CCK Parish Warden because she believes in good, strong, accountable church governance and the importance of stewarding parish-related matters and resources in accordance with God’s purposes. She hopes to bring to the role—her huge desire to serve God and his people in the power of the Holy Spirit; 40+ years of church leadership experience, along with skill in, and understanding of good governance.
Cheryl loves reading, jazz music, singing and fellowship with family and friends around the family dinner table.

Dave Curry
Church Warden
(photo coming soon!)I am married to Natasha and the proud father of two teenage daughters, Katrena who is a second-year university student and Ella who is in matric. Natasha and I did the Alpha course in 1997 and got married at CCK in 1998. However, we spent over 10 years away and only returned in 2011. I agreed to join pastorate as a way of serving the CCK community and did so for five years, before being elected as church warden in 2019. I am a family man, an avid runner and a pretend wine aficionado. I’ve worked for the same investment company for over 20 years. I love being a member of our vibrant, Christ-honouring CCK family that is changing the world!

Emma Brewster
I am Emma with a cricket team of nieces and nephews and a number of the next generation on their way. I have a passion for missions and outreach both at home in our neighbourhood and city and abroad to the furthest ends of the world. I work for SIM – a vibrant community of 4000 workers from all different parts of the world taking the good news to communities where He is least known. I also have a passion for the next generation and have spent most of my years until 2019 working in the university context. I am from the UK and came to South Africa to serve with SCO (Students’ Christian Organisation) in the universities in 2009, joining SIM in 2012.
I love the outdoors and everything related to sport—with cycling, running and sailing being my favourites. I came to faith as a young child at a holiday club and joined CCK in 2013 as I wanted to be going to a more local church so that I could bring my friends and neighbours.
I came on to pastorate with my passion for mission and outreach to encourage and support Guy and the staff team as we seek to be a church in the community, the city and the world taking the Good News to every corner and to all people.

Isidore Ndayisaba
Many people call me Izzy and I’m originally from Burundi. I’ve been married to Alida since 2015 and God has blessed us with two young beautiful girls—Queen-Alisa (6) and Dean-Keren (5). I am a CPUT graduate in Nursing Science and work as a Registered Nurse/Professional Nurse. We joined CCK in 2016 after being invited by a friend. Our first day at CCK changed our lives as we met lots of people full of love, smiles and compassion. We then decided to make CCK our home by being involved in different church activities such the welcoming team, being a cup-bearer, worship team (Alida) and leading the refugee group by trying to unite them, sharing the word of God in language that they could understand.
I started serving on pastorate in 2022 and this was because I wish to serve my Lord Jesus, sacrifice some of my time with others, praying, learning, discussing and proposing projects that could help the church of God to expand so that many people can repent and come back to Jesus. I love God as He has done a lot in my life.
He is my Firm Foundation. Mark 12:30-31.

John Hewitson
(photo coming soon!)
I’m retired, recovering from a long career in academic medicine and discovering that retirement can be pretty busy too. Pastorate seems to be where God wants me for the moment, but over the years I have found that he is full of surprises, so I often wonder what else he has up his sleeve for me.
I’ve been married to Diana since the days when an apple was just a fruit. We’ve experienced a great deal of adventure with God through the decades. If you want to know more, invite us to dinner! For example, in 1995 we introduced Alpha to the Cape Town church, experienced
a move of the Spirit called the Toronto Blessing, and belatedly had our only child whom we named Joshua. Most of our lives have been lived in community with others.
I came to faith while growing up in a Christian home, and joined Christ Church more than 50 years ago. I am by nature quiet and analytical of nearly everything, but God has been gradually healing me! I am quite passionate about worship and prayer and the missio Dei, and I constantly puzzle over the intersection of faith and contemporary culture. Apart from Pastorate, I’m currently involved in co-leading The Good Portion Online Bible Study, co-leading a small group, and I attend various prayer meetings.
I am an outdoor enthusiast and enjoy long-distance camping adventures in the best 4x4 by far.

Nikki Smith
I work as a Business and Data Analyst in a financial institution. I am a compulsive reader and am surgically attached to my e-reader! I love crafting and am exploring lots of new creative avenues in 2023.
I've been a member of CCK since 2005 and had the honour of being Mary with Joseph and Baby Jesus with my husband Tim and our older daughter Beth at the 2006 crib service!
I'm married to the wonderful Tim Smith and we have two incredible daughters aged 16 and 12 and three thoroughly spoiled cats on whom we dote.
I've been following Jesus since I was 4 years old but made a serious commitment at 16. I was brought up in the Full Gospel Church and I joined St Martin's in Bergvliet when Tim and I got engaged, as that was where he was serving. We were married there in 2002. Tim and I met at Bible College (Cornerstone) and Tim went into full time ministry after graduation while I pursued post-graduate studies in Pastoral Care at Stellenbosch's Seminary. We were called to CCK in 2004 and joined in March 2005. Fun fact: Tim received the call offering him the position at CCK on his birthday in 2004.
Most of my time I've been involved in ministries that didn't require me to be away from my kids, so I've served in collection counting, laser-pointing, TLC meals, baking for prison Alpha, leading a creche team—and recently, worship team with Tim, media during services, service leading and for the past year and a bit, serving on Pastorate. As a result of exposure to many different groups at CCK I want to help us serve the congregation with wisdom.

David Cyfers
I am a happily married man for almost 23 years now with a beautiful heart-warming wife, Simone, and two babies: Chelsea and David Jr.
I have been in the motor retail industry as a parts sales consultant for over twenty years and my biggest perk is dealing with diverse clients while building rapport.
My hobbies and interests are table tennis, hiking golf and spending quality time with loved ones.
I have been at CCK for 23 years. I came to faith on a golf course in 2010—one of the best days of my entire life.
The Pastorate calling was and still is very challenging, but really worth making all the difference in growing God’s church.

Cheryl Anderson
I like hiking, walking my dachshund, playing tennis, reading voraciously, travelling and long lunches with family and friends.
While walking my dog in her new winter jacket in this icy winter, I’m currently planning my next travel adventure: hiking in the Gargano, Italy and traversing the Adriatic to explore Croatia. Playing no tennis because of the rain for weeks I’m reading, Sapiens, A Brief History of Humankind and going keto after last week’s long lunch.
All the above helps to balance my rather hectic job where my global corporate company encourages me to ‘relentlessly reimagine healthcare, one diagnosis at a time’. We provide laboratory solutions to pathology laboratories and I find myself one moment in a highly academic reference laboratory and the next at a former mission hospital in the deeply rural Eastern Cape. I have a passion in my workspace to drive diversity, equity and inclusion and to manage people in times of change.
My father died just before I turned three and I was taught by my mother at a very young age to depend on my Father God for everything. Over the decades my faith has matured and deepened and I am forever grateful for the blessed assurance that I know Jesus.
I consider my role on the Pastorate to be one of listening to the needs of the congregation especially at the 8am service and sharing concerns and suggestions with the Pastorate. All voices must be heard and I’m always up for a robust debate. Communication must be both ways and I’d love to see more in person feedback to the church which I am happy to take part in.
